I am reading in my Social Studies about economics in Canada and around the world and was wondering how Canadian and Togolese economics' compared. For example, what could be earned in one hour of work in Canada takes 9 hours of work here (approx. Min wage in Canada- $6/hours, Average pay here- 400CFA/hour [500CFA=$1dollar). Much of Canadian work is not physically challenging (I agree that there is a lot that is, but I would say 25% of jobs require intense physical activity in Canada, it is at least 75% here). School work is a ton easier in Canada; one does not have to share a text book with 10 other kids. Students are also expected to work in their teachers fields and/or during school hours (it counts for school). Because of the floods up north, school has been postponed for one month. No big deal, more vacation you might think. No, they do not get any extended year, they have to do the same amount of schooling in a shorter amount of time and are expected to pass the huge exams at the end of the year. Surgeries will not be performed if they are not paid for in advance. Id you do not pass your end of the year exams, you must (no conditions) redo the grade.
Canadians, you have it easy, stop complaining!
